The Sauble Beach Medical Center building has been sold.
In a statement, the City of South Bruce Peninsula is pleased to announce that it has purchased 672 Main Street, Sauble Beach (Medical Center building).
The Town says the Bannister family donated the property in 2007 for a medical clinic. It was recently listed on the open market, prompting the City to acquire the property with the goal of securing long-term medical services for the community.
The city says it will work closely with Bruce County EMS, with the intention of building an ambulance bay at the facility to further improve public safety in the Sauble Beach area.
The City will purchase the medical center building through long-term debt financing and use the income obtained from tenants to offset financing costs.
Mayor Janice Jackson said in a statement: “Accessing health care in a rural community can be difficult, we are so fortunate to have a medical center that can serve our residents while covering the costs of the debenture by through lease payments. “
